I like Vettel, he is intelligent, funny, a very private, family orientated person and a damn good driver who deserves better than Ferrari. I hope he gets his mojo back but which direction he heads in I would support him.

The reality is that Seb was happy at Red Bull, being the top driver in the top car when the slower Mark Weber was there, then along came Ricciardo who turned out to be faster. Seb then jumped ship to Ferrari, again happy to be there with the slower Raikkonen as team mate, then along comes Leclerc, who is again faster than Seb. Its called getting found out! He also makes far too many driving errors for a top driver in my opinion. Lewis Hamilton is more than happy to currently have the slower Bottas as a team mate, not so happy when when Nico Rossberg was there! The all singing and dancing Michael Schumacher was always happy when he had slower team mates, as he did for most of his F1 career. He then walked into Mercedes after coming out of retirement, where there was far more of a level playing field than he enjoyed at Ferrari, the problem was he couldn't out qualify or out race the faster Nico Rossberg. He must have been in shock! His aire of being the best driver F1 driver ever had gone! All these top drivers look good in the best car with a slower team mate . Put Hamilton and Verstappen in the same car, we would love to see it, but It seldom works with two really quick drivers a really top team, as this scenario is a nightmare to manage, ala Rossberg and Hamilton previously at Mercedes! Martin Brundle gives his expert commentary for Sky, if you look at his F1 career, he was mediocre at best, in over 150 Starts, he never won a single F1 race. He would probably say he was never in a good enough car to win, no doubt. The truth is that the team owners at the time, thought he wasn't worthy of driving a championship winning car. Also Brundle keeps saying that these F1 drivers are the best drivers in the world.... really? I think it takes far more skill to drive a rally car than what we see in F1. The Sky team constantly wearing these masks as above looks ridiculous, just keep a reasonable distance from each other. Though at least their cheap and cheerful masks stay on, unlike the drivers they interview, the F1 teams don't seem to be capable of making a simple mask that can be talked in, hence their drivers constant habbit of continually pulling their masks up..... very annoying!

Vettels overrated simple as that, he only looked good in the rb because he was on the front row every race with a superior car, its a lot easier to drive when you don't have any one to challenge, his wheel 2 wheel racing isn't on par with Hamilton, verstappen, etc

Ferrari use their drivers as the escape goat because the the brand importance matters too much to them, but the sad thing is the team isn’t what they think they are, they don’t have the right ethos to produce a winning car and have not had since Ross Brawn and Schumacher. Drivers like Alonso and now Vettel have had to take the flack for it, they just do not take an interest in supporting the people in the team

People are slowly realising that for all the glamour Ferrari are not all that. Not particularly fast and the times they are in recent years they make numerous tactical errors which costs them dearly. They haven't been good for quite a long time. Sainz may have a tough season next year. I wonder how long until they produce a truly competitive car for him?

I think going to racing point would be the making of vettel. They seem to be a good team who would rally round him, unlike Ferrari who seem to have abandoned him. Then he wouldn’t be under pressure to challenge for the title, so could relax a bit more. I think it would help him get his mojo back.

@TeeJ Yh i get you im the same. Tbh whilst im a huge Hamilton fan i would be opposed to seeing him win a 5th title. How good would it be to have Ham and Vet on 5 plus each both came into F1 and since they came on only been 2 other champions Rosberg and Button. Vet just got unlucky aswell with timing as Leclerc is a phenom, it happen'd to Alonso in 07. May happen to Hamilton if Russel ever gets promoted. Ham will have a lil excuses tho in that he would be alot older. Vet should still be in his prime.

Vettel is done in F1. He was in the right place at the right time to win his 4 WDC. Racing Point would be better off keeping Perez and his sponsorship money for next season. It doesn’t look like they would gain all that much in outright performance by hiring Vettel, judging by his current form and his salary demands would be much higher. Retirement looks inevitable.

I like Vettel and think he is great driver, but what he isn’t is a great racer. He did well when he had the RedBull under him, but then Button, Hamilton, and Alonso would have done well in that car. The move to Ferrari was a mistake (just ask Alonso). It’s now just sad watching Vettel heading in the same direction as Kimi - back of the grid. Hopefully he will do a Nico R and retire, or get a drive in which in can compete.

Put the shoe on the other foot for a second here. People blame Vettel for losing the 2017 and 2018 championships but where was Raikkonen? Often he was miles behind Vettel in matching strategy. Vettel did drag those cars to championship contention but let's be honest here, Ferrari messed up strategy more often than Vettel messed up. They were also blatantly cheating too and now they're playing funny buggers with their once lead driver. I don't know if it's Binnoto's style or if these orders are coming from higher up but whatever Ferrari do does not seem to work; and the lack of results prove that. I think the culture is too inverted and it's a blame culture (how many managers have been fired in the last decade?). For a team not performing they sure take themselves too serious.

Vettel’s career reminds me a lot of Piquet. In his early career a respected multiple world champion, but his reputation was damaged by the end of his career with people questioning if he was lucky to win so many titles. In my opinion the truth is somewhere in the middle. He was fast once upon a time, but there have been too many embarrassing incidents in recent years, sadly I’d like to see him (& Kimi) retire because there are probably other drivers who deserve F1 seats more.

Vettel simply doesn't like the regs in this formula and whatever he needs in the package to produce his best isnt there ,Ferrari obviously dont listen to what Vettel wants and needs from the car and dont design it around his Vettels needs , Adrian Newy listened to his drivers and tried aiding areas the driver can get the maximum. Since 2017 Vettel has struggled with what Ferrari have provided him .Maybe Ferrari are not upgrading Sebs car the same as Charles now Seb is leaving not telling him any information what could be useful

This was a historic celebration of 70 years of F1 at Silverstone and of Sir Stirling Moss who passed away recently. It was a one-off and in the spirit of the Goodwood Revival which is held every year as a celebration of historical racing cars. It is a peculiar "dress-up" type of event and is just a bit of fun. Calm down, no-one is forcing YOU to wear vintage-inspired clothing just to watch. Relax, have a bit of common-sense and even laugh at the clobber that folks used to wear 70 years ago.

Same can be said of Ferrari, Where's the so called passion, sticking together like a team when the going gets tough not Ferrari they only like you when you're winning. Poor strategy calls, always blaming others. Ironically last year's car needed more downforce, and now that the engine is down on power they need last year's low drag package. Aero packages have been subpar for the longest time. Where's the upgrades still using that boxy nose, almost rest of the grid has a skinny nose, car philosophy let's copy Redbull since we need more downforce but we're incompetent so our package has alot of drag. There's no team in Ferrari, be proud you should be privileged to be driving a Ferrari, not performing sack! Living in the past with previous glory while getting beat for more than a decade.

Surreal. 3 men in hats and masks sitting on stools. Looks like they should be having a quick sing song.

@Mark Huff The first Silverstone F1 Grand Prix to be more accurate. They were also celebrating the life of the late Sir Stirling Moss. It was a 70 year anniversary of F1 at Silverstone.

This season is a bust for ferrari, they have admitted as much. Why not just put Vettel on gardening leave, let him go off and do stuff that he is more interested in doing & give that seat to a development driver?

@flaves Why not put Hulkenberg in the other seat? Charles LeClerc is effectively a Ferrari development driver, and their young guys in their program are doing pretty well in F2 and F3 atm. They're clearly talented, so their time will come. Give Hulkenberg a chance for the second half of the season to give him some miles to hopefully get a seat at another team next year. Give the young guys the chance to win the F2 and F3 titles, then see if they're ready for F1 next year. If not, why not give Hulkenberg the drive? If they don't, the Hulk would do well in place of Romain or Kevin at Haas
